The Sea Garden is the Varna’s largest, oldest and best known public park, also said to be the largest landscaped park in the Balkans. Located along the city’s coast on the Black Sea, it is an important tourist attraction and a national monument of landscape architecture.
The complex offer volleyball, basketball, soccer playgrounds, bike lanes, a summer theater, mini golf, rock climbing wall. At the sport complex were built skateboard park and inline skates playground.
The reserve is situated at a distance of about 25 km South of Varna and it is 40 km in length and reaches 5 km in width in some areas.
The Botanical Garden in Varna is the first eco park in the country which combines artificial and natural ecological systems. It is famous for its rich collection of irises, which are more than 250 variations. The ecological park offers exotic meetings with plants from the whole world: sea oaks, tulip-tree, ginkgo biloba, sterculia, parrotia persica, broussonetia papyrifera, evergreen oak, mamont tree and many others.
“Fountain of the Sirens” is located in the Sea Garden in Varna. It was created by sculptor Kiril Shivarov and his students since 1928. Enjoying exquisite decorative and figurative sculpture, locals heard and the brass music of the Eighth Infantry Regiment of every holiday at the scene of a nearby wooden pavilion. Today “Scallops” is an active scene of musical events throughout the summer.
Zlatni Pyasatsi Nature Park is the smallest Nature Park in Bulgaria. The Park was declared as protected area for conservation and protection of valuable habitats, flora, fauna and specific landscapes in 1943. The Park is part of the European network “Natura 2000”, as a Special Area of Conservation called Zlatni Pyasatsi.
The Asparuhov park is perfect for walking and relaxation. The park attracts with its beautiful alleys and lawns.
The Park-Monument was designed and dedicated to Bulgarian-Soviet Friendship. It was built from 1974-1978 on Crane Hill at a height of 110 m. That is the biggest monument in the whole Varna area – its height is 23 m., and its width – 48 m. The structure comprises two dynamic forms got together, built as an open composition. The colossal figures are 4 soldiers for the north, and 3 women – for the south wing. From the base of the hill – to its top, there leads a staircase of 301 steps – the so-called Staircase of Victory.
