In the Museum of the History of Medicine has an exhibition organized in three different rooms.
In the first room the exhibition covers the period from the Forth Millennium BC to 1393 – the end of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. Different objects, tools and also many photos and graphic diagrams give an idea of the development of medicine as a practice in this period.
The second exhibition hall presents the development of medicine from 1393 to the Bulgarian National Revival. Typical for this period is the so called church-monastery medicine. Icons of medieval healers and medical instruments and tools from the period are displayed in this room.
The third exhibition room tracks the development of medical services during the Russian-Turkish War (1877-1878), after the Liberation until 1940s.
