The mission of Varna Medical University is to meet the needs of society for highly qualified medical and management personnel in the fields of health and social care in accordance with the international standards and national strategies for educational and public health development, to develop fundamental and applied scientific research, innovations and new technologies and improve the nation’s health.
Medical University “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov” – Varna was established in 1961 and is one of the most dynamically developing universities in Bulgaria. The University was named after Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov who was the founder of the first Bulgarian School of Surgery. It is the first and the only institution of higher education in Bulgaria which introduced the EFQM® model for Business Excellence of the European Foundation for Quality Management in 2008. The diplomas and the accompanying European supplement issued by Varna Medical University are recognized by all countries of the European Union. The University is included in the European educational programmes for life-long learning Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci and maintains bilateral cooperation with over 50 foreign universities and institutions.
